Abstract

Observe strict asepsis during suctioning! Touch the umbilical artery catheter only with sterile gloves. Disinfect hands before opening the incubator. Wipe all frequently used devices regularly with disinfectant and disinfect all tubing; see p 74. Change the vaporizer jar, sterile water, and tubing sets daily [15].
