Abstract
According to studies made by Johnston and Wilkinson, Humphrey, Smith, Goligher, Kragelund and Amdrup (1973) and ourselves (cf.p.l44,fig. 3), the proportion of completely insulin-negative cases after SPV falls from 86% during the first 3 months after the operation to 50 % by the end of the first year after the operation. In our own group of patients, the number of completely negative cases was in the neighborhood of 50 % after 3 years.
