Digital Mammography

Abstract

The digital mammography with high resolution phosphor storage plate/luminescence mammography (CR) has the lower spatial resolution (9 lp/mm) in contrast to screen film mammography (SFM) (12 lp/mm) but the advantages of a higher DQE (Detective Quantum Efficiency) (0.33 versus 0.20), a large dynamic range (4.000: 1 versus 100: 1), reduction of dose (entrance surface air kerma: 7,60 mGy versus 9,64 mGy), post-processing and CAD [1,2].
