Abstract

Dr. Fink has provided a succinct and up to date review of the clinical and radiologic assessment of source control for intra-abdominal infections. There are really two clinical problems being addressed here. First, is the source of the infection (e.g., hole in bowel) controlled (closed, exteriorized, etc.)? Second, is the bacterial infection controlled?
