Dry Eye Syndrome: Ocular Surface Syndrome After Lasik and Treated with Eye Platelet-Rich Plasma (E-PRP)

Chapter

Abstract

The incidence of dry eye after LASIK ranges from 5 [1] to 52 % [2] among Caucasian patients, with a higher reported incidence among Asians [1]. This transitory condition, which typically resolves within 6–9 months after surgery [3], is neurotrophic in origin and is frequently associated with ocular surface inflammation. It can cause significant decrease in visual acuity and quality of vision.
