Abstract
There are numerious number of anisotropic polymeric systems. As a rule, these are complex liquids, such as LCPs, emulsions, two-phase blends, polymers filled by fibrous fillers, etc. For part of them an anisotropy appears as a result of deformation action (elongation of disperse phase droplets), for another ones an anisotropy is thermodynamically inherent property (LCPs). Unfortunately, until this time there no exists the special equipment for the experimental study of anisotropic viscoelasticity, though some theoretical predictions were already appeared (see, for example, Volkov and Kulichikhin (1990)). Our first attempts to investigate the anisotropic dynamic moduli on an example of LCP’s melts and their blends with commodity thermoplastics (Kulichikhin, Tereshin (1997)) showed us some advantages and disadvantages of proposed experimental procedure. In this paper except the results on well-known thermotropic LCPs and their blends at high temperature the new ones will be shown on mixtures of two immixible solutions (one of them can form the lyotropic LC phase) at room temperature.
