S₊ an Augmentation of S

Abstract

As our last major topic in the construction of triangulations we consider the triangulation S₊ which is obtained by modifying S in the region Gⁿ × [0,1]. S₊ and S restricted to Gⁿ × [1,+∞) agree. However, S₊ naturally restricted to Gⁿ × [0,1] is the triangulation V which has been squeezed and sheared on level Gⁿ × 1 to match S on Gⁿ × 1, see Figure 18.1.
