Abstract
The theoretical background of this study is based on several different strands of research. Therefore, this chapter will provide a comprehensive overview of the related theories. Researchers from various disciplines, such as economics, management, strategy, and economic geography have been studying one particular interorganizational process, namely the geographical agglomeration of companies in clusters.
