Rivulet Structures in Falling Liquid Films

Abstract

Here is the story of how my Ph.D. thesis and hence my subsequent scientific career has been influenced by Manuel G. Velarde and the unique spirit he has created at the Instituto Pluridisciplinar in Madrid. I came 11 years ago to Madrid with the aim to model rivulet structures observed in experiments of heated falling liquid film, and I am still today working on rivulets, but arising due to negative gravity instead of thermocapillary effects.
