Abstract

Yfrl gene was first found in Prochlorococcus and Synechococcus by genome-wide comparative analysis and confirmed important for the adaption and survival of cyanobacteria. This article is mainly focus on its promoter and evolutionary features. The results showed that Yfrl usually locates in a conserved region with stable flanking genes named guaB upstream and trxA downstream. -35 box of Yfrl promoter often lost with a substitution of guaB. Phylogenetic tree showed a great relation between evolutionary process of Yfrl and the living environment of strains because of the gene transfer and recombination. Yfrl participates in various regaulations of cyanobacteria and play a key role for their adaption and survival.
