Abstract

The cumulative amount of FDI equity inflows over the past decade plus (April 2000 to February 2011) stood at US $193.739 billion, according to the data released by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion. India has been ranked at the second place for global foreign direct investments in 2010 and will continue to remain among the top five striking places for international investors during 2010–2012 period, according to United Nations World Investment Prospects Survey 2009–2012.
