A Time Calibration Algorithm Based on the Data Fitting and Its Application in Fusion of Navigation Information
Abstract
This chapter aims at the problem of time asynchronous of sensor observations in AIS and radar information fusion; first, the properties of the sampling frequency of the two sensors are analyzed in this paper, on the basis of which a time calibration algorithm is proposed. In the new algorithm, the sampled data of the two sensors are fitted by spline function to get two smooth curves, and a function-based least-square criterion in the set of spline functions to minimize the square sum of fitting errors is sought. Then the sampling intervals of the two sensors are normalized, and the time-unification of sampling data is realized. Finally, some analysis results show a significant improvement in information fusion based on time calibration algorithm. Furthermore, its applications in the fusion of navigation information are discussed in the paper.
