Challenges and Road Blocks for Local and Global Sustainability

Abstract

After 30 years from Stockholm, 13 from Our Common Future and 9 from UNCED, we have to recognise that very important advances have been made to achieve sustainable development. However, neither the multilateral principles, commitments and agreements adopted nor the local national efforts have been enough to curb deterioration and impoverishment trends, much less revert them.
