The Future of Mobility – Scenarios for the Year 2025

  • Irene Feige
Part of the Trends and Issues in Global Tourism book series (TIGT)

Mobility is part of our life – not just today, but also in future. Whether on the way to work, when travelling on business or going on holiday, in leisure-time traffic or goods transport: All these manifestations of mobility set the foundation for our society and characterise our lifestyle. Mobility opens up free spaces, it creates new margins. However, it also causes burdens and obstructions for both the individual and for society as a whole. This entails the ongoing and consistent challenge to create forms of mobility offering mankind appropriate benefits while keeping disadvantages and inconveniences to a minimum.
