K_L → π⁰ ν ̅ν

CP violation has been a central issue in particle physics since its discovery in 1964. It was one of the cornerstones of the standard model (SM) consisting of the three generations of quarks. Recent successful measurements by K- and B-meson decays [1-4] enabled us to understand how different types of quarks transform among them. The experimental results so far support the standard model based on the quark mixing expressed by the Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa (CKM) matrix [5].
