Trauma Surgery: Vascular Emergencies
Arterial and venous injuries present a major challenge to all surgeons. Vascular trauma may be caused by penetrating, blunt or iatrogenic injuries. These injuries are often associated with a high risk of mortality and morbidity.
A systematic approach to the assessment, investigation and management of these injuries is vital to obtain the best possible outcome.
