Abstract

Experimental and theoretical investigations of ultrafast processes in molecules or clusters can lead to a detailed understanding of the dynamical processes involved. Their control by tailored laser pulses can be employed to determine how the interplay of size, structures and light fields can be used to manipulate optical properties and chemical reactivity of these systems. Moreover, laserselective femtochemistry [1–11] can be combined with the functionalism of nanostructures, providing new perspectives for the basic research as well as for technological applications.
