Kollektives Handeln und Gruppensolidarität – Motivationsprozesse und Interventionsstrategien am Beispiel politischer und sozialer Partizipation im Kontext der AIDS-Hilfe-Bewegung

Zusammenfassung

Zahlreiche gesellschaftliche Herausforderungen – Armut und Chancenungleichheit, Rassismus und Diskriminierung, Umweltzerstörung und Naturverbrauch – lassen sich nur durch konzertierte Anstrengungen einer großen Anzahl von Personen (d.h. kollektives Handeln) bewältigen. Eine wirkungsvolle kollektive Handlungsstrategie ist die Formierung oder Unterstützung einer sozialen Bewegung. Die Geschichte hat eine Vielzahl von einflussreichen sozialen Bewegungen hervorgebracht, die zur Überwindung gesellschaftlicher Probleme und, damit verbunden, zu gesellschaftlichem Fortschritt beigetragen haben; man denke beispielsweise an die klassische Arbeiterbewegung, die Frauenbewegung oder die Ökologiebewegung. Allerdings offenbart sich gerade im Kontext sozialer Bewegungen ein spezifisches Dilemma kollektiven Handelns. Obwohl häufig eine Vielzahl von Personen mit den Zielen, die eine soziale Bewegung verfolgt, sympathisiert (z.B. Lohnverbesserungen, Anti-Diskriminierungsgesetze, Umweltschutzmaßnahmen), beteiligt sich typischerweise nur ein relativ geringer Prozentsatz dieser Sympathisanten tatsächlich aktiv an konkreten Aktionen, die der Durchsetzung der Bewegungsziele dienen (z.B. Protestaktionen, Kundgebungen, Unterschriftenaktionen).
