Zusammenfassung

Die Morphologie (morfología), die traditionell als Formenlehre definiert wurde, befasst sich mit dem Aufbau und der inneren Struktur von Wörtern, wobei das Morphem — seine Form, Funktion und Verteilung — im Zentrum der Betrachtung steht. Die Morphologie gliedert sich in die beiden größeren Teilbereiche der Flexions- und der Derivationsmorphologie. Beschäftigt sich erstere mit dem Formeninventar (den Paradigmen) der einzelnen Wortarten, so behandelt letztere die Verfahren zur Bildung neuer Wortschatzeinheiten.
