Zusammenfassung

Dies ist der finnische Teil einer multidisziplinären skandinavischen Untersuchung von Lebens- und Alternsweisen mit der allgemeinen Zielstellung zu beschreiben, wie das gelebte Leben (die Lebensweise) im Alter gesehen und mit Sinn erfüllt wird. Die Notwendigkeit, Alter in einem lebensgeschichtlichen und biographischen Kontext zu untersuchen, kann durchaus auch in Frage gestellt werden. Wenn man aber die bisherige Alternsforschung betrachtet, dann ähnelt dieser Zugang dem Ei des Kolumbus. Im Mittelpunkt der hier vorgestellten Lebensweisen werden Konsequenzen für das Leben im Alter stehen.
