Abstract

The primary goals of the Workshop were to assess numerical methods for solving the time-dependent Navier-Stokes and Boussinesq equations and to provide benchmark solutions. The numerical simulation of such flows can be extremely time-consuming, and thus the primary benchmark problems were limited to 2D flows in a rectangular geometry, whether this corresponds to reality or not was not questioned.
