A comprehensive evaluation of factors contributing to headache requires examination of biological, psychological, and social inputs. In addition to genetics and “classical” risk factors, the natural history of headache is also strongly influenced by beliefs, emotions, and other behavioral constructs which demand attention from the treating clinician.
