Abstract
As early as the nineteenth century, textbooks on analytical chemistry (N. A. Menshutkin and F. F. Beilstein) were written in Russia, which have been published many times in many different languages. Modern textbooks have been produced at Moscow and St. Petersburg Universities as well as Moscow Technological University (editors, respectively, Yu. A. Zolotov, L. N. Moskvin, and A. A. Ishchenko). Four journals on analytical chemistry are currently published, including the Journal of Analytical Chemistry published simultaneously in English and Russian. Many publications deal with the history and philosophy of analytical chemistry, including the book by Yu. A. Zolotov and V. I. Vershinin entitled History and Methodology of Analytical Chemistry.
