Setting up your Clinical Practice – Keys for Growth and Success
Unfortunately, no time is spent during medical school, residency, or fellowship in preparing young physicians in the nonclinical aspects of starting a practice. Most physicians “learn on the fly” through trial-and-error on how to recruit patients, market their practice, and navigate the challenging bureaucracy that is modern-day medicine. The goal of this chapter is to provide physicians with practical advice on how to successfully (and efficiently) start, build, and grow a clinical practice. Fundamental aspects of marketing, outreach, and office/surgical protocol preparations are reviewed in this chapter.
