Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to determine specific peculiarities and key problems of formation of Industry 4.0 in modern Russia. The authors use the methodological recommendations in the sphere of monitoring of the process of Industry 4.0 formation and evaluation of effectiveness of Industry 4.0 from the point of view of stimulating the development of knowledge economy, which were offered in the previous chapters, and the method of SWOT analysis. As a result of the research, the authors substantiate that the process of formation of Industry 4.0 in modern Russia has its specifics. In particular, despite the fact that Russia was late—as compared to developed countries—to proclaim the course at formation of Industry 4.0, the national program in this sphere is more detailed, and the most realistic forecast has been compiled—which allows conducting highly-effective management and monitoring of the process of Industry 4.0 formation in Russia and achieving high results, as compared to developed countries. However, the problems on the path of formation of Industry 4.0 in modern Russia are emphasis on digital economy instead of Industry 4.0, incompleteness of the process of formation of the socio-economic platform (digital society and digital economy), and remoteness of private business from financing and management of R&D and entrepreneurial projects in the sphere of Industry 4.0.
