Conversation 3: The Visioning Conversation
Marina, a young law graduate with a passion for social justice and humanitarian care, took a holiday job with World Vision , promoting child sponsorship and aid donations in shopping centers. It’s hard, repetitive work that involves a lot of rejection, from averted eyes to outright refusal and occasional accusations of wasted money. Nevertheless, the young graduate’s passion remained undimmed after months of this work. Why? Because the World Vision marketing team regularly and frequently gathered their team members to share experiences, celebrate successes, take input, and remind them of the purpose of the work they were doing. Their job is not simply about getting sponsorships, but about upholding World Vision’s profile and using the opportunities for advocacy of the valuable work the organization does.
