Abstract

The angular diameter is θ = 0.1∕(1.46 × 106) = 6.84 × 10−8 radians = 2.4 × 10−4 arc min = 1.4 × 10−2 arc sec. The corresponding solid angle is Ω = 3.67 × 10−15 steradians. The flux is given by S = 2kTBΩλ2 = 6.0 × 10−4 Jy. If a Gaussian brightness distribution is assumed instead (doubtful for an asteroid), the result is S = 2.65 TBθ[]2λ[cm]2 = 8.65 × 10−4 Jy.
