Outpatient Clinic Treatment for Patients with Hyperhidrosis

Chapter

Abstract

Videothoracoscopic sympathectomy for the treatment of primary hyperhidrosis in the hands, face, or underarms, and/or pathological facial flushing is a procedure performed in the majority of cases in young and healthy people with no significant co-morbidities or risk factors. These circumstances make it manageable on an outpatient basis. It is definitely more comfortable for the patient and his family and the reduction in the cost of hospitalization is evident. Adequate patient selection is important.
