In-111 leukocyte (white blood cell—WBC) imaging is mainly used to diagnose various acute infections, particularly in musculoskeletal system (osteomyelitis in areas other than the spine). It is also used to diagnose infected vascular grafts, infected central venous catheters or other devices, fever of unknown origin (FUO), postoperative abscesses, inflammatory bowel disease, lung infections, endocarditis, and neurological infections.
