Abstract

The material removal in the chemical machining processes takes place by the controlled chemical dissolution of the workpiece specimen in the presence of strong reagent. The chemical energy is therefore the main source for the material removal process.  The chemical machining assumes various forms such as photochemical machining, chemical milling and electropolishing depending on the application for which it is intended to serve. These different forms of the chemical machining process are discussed in the present chapter.
