Part of the The Arts in Higher Education book series (AHE)

What is entrepreneurial learning, and how did a playwright come to lead a major university’s initiative to embed the concept into its curriculum? How does arts education develop the coveted “soft skills” necessary for a successful career, regardless of discipline? By weaving personal testimony from arts faculty and students with the latest research on high-impact, project-based learning, this chapter will advocate for arts education as a foundation for developing entrepreneurial ideals, offering examples from student-driven experiences designed to teach all learners how to adapt; how to integrate knowledge, ethical responsibility, and practice; and how to become highly effective creators, communicators, and collaborators.
