Authoring Quality Ultrasound Reports

  • J. Woody SistrunkEmail author

An excellent endocrine neck ultrasound examination may not be useful if the report is deficient. Extracting all the useful information from a thyroid/parathyroid ultrasound study and presenting it in a cohesive, concise manner is a skill that one develops with practice over time. Developing a firm foundation in writing quality ultrasound reports is essential.

Dr. Sistrunk wishes to acknowledge the vast contributions that H. Jack Baskin, Sr., MD, made to the original version of this chapter in the third edition of this book. Much of his original content has been propagated with continued updates based on ECNU and AIUM requirements. Without the guidance of Dr. Jack Baskin, there would have been no AACE Ultrasound Course and no Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound.
