Patient and Physician Perspectives on Traditional Systemic and Biologic Therapies for Psoriasis

Abstract

Managing the disease burden in psoriasis and mitigating its impact on quality of life for people living with the disease necessitate treatments which are safe, effective, convenient, accessible, and affordable. There are however a number of considerations from the perspectives of patients and providers which have the potential to present therapeutic dilemmas and barriers to patients achieving satisfaction in disease management. Herein we explore current treatment trends, perspectives of patients and providers on systemic and biologic treatments for psoriasis, as well as unmet needs in achieving a patient-centered approach to psoriasis care yielding optimal outcomes.
