Abstract
This operation is most suitable for patients with a symmetrical pectus excavatum without significant costal flaring (Fig. 14.1). Patients with some costal flaring can undergo the procedure but depending on the height and flexibility of the costal margin may not achieve a satisfactory reduction in height of the relatively prominent costal margin.
