Quasi-static pressure-volume curve is a diagnosis maneuver that assesses the elastic property of the respiratory system at different levels of pressure during inflation and deflation. It is mainly used in patient with the acute respiratory distress syndrome to assess the lung recruitability. The presence of a change in slope during inflation, a high linear compliance, and a large hysteresis are in favor of a large potential of recruitability.
