A Proposal for an Urban Regeneration Project in a Small Quarter in Andorra La Vella
Abstract
The urban design and architectural program as outlined in the brief from the Cultural Minister of Andorra was to provide a design, not just for the regeneration of the particular district of Sant Julia de Loria, but also to guide future design around designated historic sites. A new university, a mixed use development and parking was the prescribed program. Fairfax & Sammons Architects provided designs derived from Andorran vernacular architecture around a new plaza, blending the new university buildings with retail and residential uses.
