Abstract
After facing World War I and Prohibition good news for wineries came with the 1933 repeal of Prohibition. In an overnight move California’s grape growers scaled up production and began rebuilding their industry with the advantage of new scientific viticultural knowledge and techniques. Bottom line is that California wine became the global industrial wine model.
