Abstract
We introduce the relativistic momentum of a body by recalling the relation between the force inducing change of momentum, and the work-energy theorem relating work, energy and velocity. Both nonrelativistic and ultrarelativistic limits of the energy-momentum-velocity relation are explored. Considering that the linearity of the Galilean velocity addition is lost, the concept of rapidity is further advanced in the context of particle dynamics. Relativistic particle beams are discussed.
