Interpretation and Application of the New York Convention in Singapore

Abstract

Singapore has enjoyed phenomenal success as an arbitration centre in recent years. A large part of the credit for this success goes to the successful implementation of the New York Convention in Singapore. In this report, the author identifies important statutory provisions and case law that reflect Singapore’s progressive approach towards international arbitration and the New York Convention.
