Abstract

Cartilage is a specialized connective tissue type. It can be divided into hyaline cartilage, elastic cartilage, and fibrocartilage, which each has specific characteristic structures, functions, and localizations. The general composition of cartilage is described, as well as the formation, growth, and repair of cartilage.
