Abstract

Omar left Issaka Dia’s hut that night blessed with the sight that, true to the ways of Songhay sorcerers, would develop over a long period of time—maybe decades. As he walked toward his brother’s mud brick house, he wondered about his own blindness. How many years had he spent with his eyes closed to the central destiny of his life?
