Characteristics of Karst Surface

Chapter
Part of the Springer Theses book series (Springer Theses)

Abstract

The main characteristic of the karst surface in the study area is lack of dolines and larger karst surface forms, and the presence of mostly fluviokarst surface morphology. In karst rocks, the absence of dolines, which are generally considered as the diagnostic karst landform, does not mean that karst is not developed (Ford and Williams 2007). The studied caves presented in the previous chapters clearly indicated that karst was/is functioning in these terrains beside the lack of typical karst surface morphology found.
