Abstract

It is estimated that between 10 and 15 % of the world’s population suffers from some form of disability (World Health Organization, Geneva, 2011). People with disabilities face challenges in both developing and developed nations, both in healthcare systems and in day to day life. Quality care for these patients includes treating the medical cause or complication of the disability as well as addressing psychosocial needs and challenges. A multidisciplinary team approach is required to provide patient satisfaction and adequate care in order to integrate the disabled person into mainstream society.
