Intercostal Nerves

Abstract

The intercostal nerves arise from the ventral rami of the corresponding thoracic nerve roots. They run on the undersurface of the lower border of the corresponding rib in a neurovascular bundle with the following arrangement from cranial to caudal: vein, artery, and nerve (VAN).
