Abstract

Friends! We have planted a tree. A tree is one member of Creation; thus as a fellow creature, our sibling. Jesus understood Creation as a parable of the coming kingdom of God among mankind: lilies of the field; the mustard seed, the least of the seeds, which grows into a tree, and the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches.
