Conference paper
First Online:
Abstract
This paper is an exploratory application of the Temporal Orientation Horizon Matrix (TOHM) as proposed by Lane and Kaufman (1993) to the current consumer situation in mainland China. The study is based on data gathered primarily from observation, discussions with native Chinese business people, visits to key geographic and museum sites and historical and current readings. Past, present and future orientations with their extended, intermediate and immediate components are used as the basis for analysis.
