Abstract

It is very important to properly calculate the gear loss factor in order to predict the gears power loss. A gear loss factor calculated considering the load distribution along the path of contact was implemented. Several gear loss factors were considered in the study. Some gear loss factors don’t correlate with experimental results, putting in evidence the importance of a correct value of gear loss factor.
