A note on an inequality of G. Talenti

Abstract

The aim of this note is to provide not only a short and simple proof for an extension of (1), but also to establish a converse inequality of this extension. Furthermore, we show that Talenti’s inequality holds for a class of functions which includes the set of decreasing functions as a proper subset.
