Criticism of the Mesarovic-Pestel Model and a Possible Alternative
Chapter
Abstract
By means of a quantitative model, the authors of the world model project intend to assist in promoting the comprehension of global processes as well as to supply a universal tool for decision making. In my opinion, this rests on two conditions:
- 1.
It is necessary to make explicit on what kind of theoretical preknowledge the conclusions rest.
- 2.
The theoretical propositions, which have been operationalized in model-form, should be structurally homomorphic (to be explained below) to reality.
