Harmonic Spheres Conjecture

We discuss the harmonic spheres conjecture, relatingthe space of harmonic maps of the Riemann sphere into the loop space of a compact Lie group G with the moduli space of Yang–Mills G-fields on four-dimensional Euclidean space.
